I've had a case on this thing from day two, and the hardest  knock it gets is when my truck runs over a speed bump, yet the screen is practically unreadable.

took it to where I bought it and they said they don't work on them(corp store) took it down the street and they say the screen needs replacing and have a new one on order for me.

luckily I got the insurance on this beast, but I'm trying a hard reset on it now to see if that works for giggles.

just had to vent

Ummmmm, you didn't really describe the problem? Unless it's the case? Is the screen unreadable because the LCD broke? Or the plastic is all scratched? Because you forgot how to ready the english language? Or perhaps it got changed into Korean and you don't read Korean very well?

it was hard to explain without showing a picture,,,,,best I can do to explain is, have you ever had a horrible signal on an over-the-air digital signal on your TV?

basically when looking at the clock on the home page,,,,the hours would be over on the right side and the minutes would be on the left.

just really screwed screen, anyway, got my new phone and of course it's back in order, had to reinstall a bunch of stuff, but this has me worried about the stability a bit of this phone

Hmm, sorry to hear this, but I'm glad you got a new one.
I don't think that you will meet this problem again, maybe it just was a bad phone.

Don't feel bad...there are three of us on my Sprint plan, all with Touch Pros. One started going crazy in the first couple weeks (slow as hell, wouldnt open some programs, would open/close programs at random, all kinds of fun stuff) and no amount of soft or hard resets would fix it. Sent it back and got a new one for free, thankfully.

Another one (different person) just died after about 4 months...screen wouldnt come on, or anything of that nature. Turned it in to insurance and got a new one.

About a month later, my TP decided to stop charging and then, even with a charged battery, would not turn on...hard reset was no fix. Turned into insurance and got a new one.

Just the other day, the person that had the lemon called me to tell me his died again....

Needless to say, we are not very impressed with these phones....

Wow! Impressive story. I mean, don't get me wrong here, but it sounds like it's not a quality piece of device, such as the GSM Touch Pro is. I've got one, and I know of 4 others that has one. NO ONE has EVER had a problem with the phone!

OK, so my boss is in almost constant contact with me via phone or text,,,,started noticing that he was getting angry at me for not picking up phone calls or answering texts.

I just figured it was because he quit smoking, but after some research I find out that my phone is receiving texts out of order, sometimes off by hours, and when people call me it's kinda a roll of the dice whether or not the call ever makes it to my phone to ring,,,,all I get is the voicemail and sometimes it takes a couple hours for that to come through.

So, I take the phone back to the Sprint store and of course they tell me it's fine, I tell them(after a couple of test texts) that it is not.

It was while I was in the store that I noticed tht there is a scratch about an inch long on the screen, so I sit and argue with the "technicians" there that worked on it because they wanted to tell me that it wasn't them that did it,,,,,so I invited the manager of the store out to my truck to show her where I place my beloved phone in the cupholder with a washcloth draped over it for a cushion to show her how freaky I am about getting a scratch on it.

She offers to options, 1. a $50 credit on my next bill, 2. replace the phone

I then looked at her with a straight face and asked how the $50 would fix the scratch and the phone still not working properly.

Got my replacement today,,,,we'll see over the next week how it does, but after buying it in June and being on my third TP,,,,,,this may be the last if the problems persist.

man, glad you got another phone. As you know, hard reset it right away.

If this one messes up, maybe they can upgrade you to the TP2 - an amazing phone!!! The difference in quality is like night & day!
