There are three of us on a Sprint plan, and all of us have Touch Pros. The one person had a lemon from the get-go. No amount of soft/hard resets would fix it, so within the first 30 days, we sent it back for a new one. After that one, he managed to get three months out of the next one before it started acting up (again, resets were no help). So, he got another one, and is currently using it. (So that's one warranty and one $100 insurance deductible, as he got p***** off and broke it)

The other person got about four months out of his Pro before it locked up. Fortunately it still had warranty, so he took it to Sprint and got a new one free.

...and me...My first phone lasted four months before it "locked up"...I couldn't get it to charge or start up. So, I took it to Sprint and got a new one...thankfully, under warranty. So I've had this new one for about a month and since I was disappointed with how slow/unpredictable the stock ROM is, I decided to finally take the dive and load up the Mighty Rom...

After having that (slightly faster and more reliable ROM) for a couple weeks, my KEYBOARD EFFIN DIES!! The lights only come on once in awhile and the buttons do NOTHING...

I'm about to do a hard reset and hope that solves my problems but even they are getting ridiculously annoying. Restoring all settings and passwords and programs and and and....

NOT HAPPY WITH THESE PHONES!!!

Keyboard going out seems to be a common problem to some Touch Pros. Seems like there are a couple of bad batches out there.

Sorry to hear!

Neither soft or hard resets would fix it. I went to Sprint today...since they "do not stock" Touch Pros, they had to order me a new one. Every Sprint rep I have dealt with, has told me they do not like the Touch Pros...problem after problem with them...

Glad I'm finding this out now...when I have a year and a half left on the contract and no money to purchase a new phone out right.

What an effin disappointment.

Actually I just looked it up a little.  I wasn't quite accurate myself.

There are significant differences in data transfer speed too.

CDMA - "downstream rate of about 2 megabits per second, though some reports suggest real world speeds are closer to 300-700 kilobits per second"

GSM - "boasts data rates of up to 384 kbps with real world speeds reported closer to 70-140 kbps. With added technologies still in the works that include UMTS (Universal Mobile Telephone Standard) and HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access), speeds reportedly increase to about 275—380 kbps."

Well, that would be the main difference between the, may I say?, carriers using CDMA and GSM

TP GSM and TP CDMA is different built devices.

Ok, ok, ok! I give up. But can you tell me why I get so much usage of this phone, while you don't?

Me: GSM - 9 days
You: CDMA - 1 day

Me: GSM - Never had to send my device in to support, never had any errors with it.
You: CDMA - I constantly hear about people having problems with the TP CDMA.

(You, not as in you dfoot, but as in MOST of the CDMA users. And I'm saying most here because it isn't all.)

Ok well I can pretty much guarantee you don't get 9 days out of your phone no matter what you say you do.

If you want to continue this debate then feel free to bring into my PM box.  No need for flooding this thread when it is obviously pointless.
