Is there a way you can set a custom ring for your SMS. Have any of you guys tried to do it?

you can change that at Start -> Settings -> Sounds and notifications (in the personal tab) and then select the event you want to alter from the notifications tab.

Copy and paste all your ringtones into application data, sounds.  this is on the regular program files (not storage card).

If you download any ringtones, just put them in the my documents, then once your done downloading songs, cut, paste them in the Sounds protion of the app data.

When you try and change it for text messages, it only show you the default sounds, it doesn't show any downloaded files.

Sweet, worked like a charm. I was able to see my files. Now I can finally set the law and order chime for my text messages  Grin

Thanks

Sorry, I should have specified that all of my ringtones were made with the mp3 trimmer, which automatically saves them in the right folder. if you haven't tried it out, I'd suggest giving the trimmer a try, it's really intuitive

Tho this post is 2 years late, it doesn't work for the touch pro II. Just put the audio files into the /my device /my documents and leave em there as-is. they'll show up when you want to personalize ur mms, sms, incoming, outgoing, etc etc sounds
