Hey everyone Smiley

My name is Nawar and I love windows mobile based devices, my first was the Shadow. Smiley I love grand prixs and drive a pretty cool one. Also I am into Car design, looking forward to be on this forum more often Smiley

I'm about to get a Touch Pro soon because the speaker on my Shadow 2007 went out Sad lol

I had a quick question, is there a way to sim unlock it? Perferably for free lol Thanks for any info Smiley

Welcome to the club!

Are you with T-Mobile US or Europe?

I don't know of any free unlockers / unlock codes - they all want around $20.00 for them.

You should be able to pick a Touch Pro up on eBay pretty cheap by now, by Provider or already unlocked, since they've reached their EOL just recently.

I had a deal with someone to buy the HTC Touch Pro for about $120. I went to the guy and it turned out to be the Diamond Pro, so far I love the phone. Is there actually a difference besides the looks?

Right now I'm with T-Mobile USA, can't complain Smiley

I'm gonna take it to a cell store tomorrow and hope that they can unlock it, wish me luck! Cheesy

Well, there is no such thing as the Diamond Pro.

You can tell the difference real easy.
HTC Touch Diamond - Slim, on screen keyboard
HTC Touch Pro - Thick (not to thick), Hardware slide out keyboard + on screen keyboard.

So which one is it? Smiley

Since you bought it off of a guy, maybe you know what network / provider he was on. If it's a GSM phone, you might be lucky in getting it unlocked. If it's a CDMA phone, it won't even have a sim card - and you won't be able to use it on T-Mobile.

When the phone is on the TF3D home screen, it should tell you what the provider is above the clock.

Hmm I thought that the HTC Diamond was this phone: http://www.itechnews.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/htc-diamond-pda-phone.jpg

And the Diamond Pro was the same thing except with a slide out key board which is the one I have. I don't know...
http://freshgear.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/sdc10008.jpg
^Both of those are diamonds I think? I have the one on the right.
Plus my keyboard has blue instead of green on it. I am probably wrong HTC's line up of phones overlap sometimes lol

Well the guy had it for AT&T and it has a sim card slot. I now need to get the unlock code because when I put my sim card in it, it says it needs a sim unlock code. So I'm hoping it can be unlocked which it probably can.

I'm not gonna lie this phone is pretty BA Smiley

The latest link (with both phone showed Touch Diamond to the left and Touch Pro to the right. NOTE: Those are both European GSM phones.

And it's a Touch Pro. The AT&T version of the Touch Pro is called HTC Fuze.
heres a pic.
PICTURE 1:

Then I got a question. Look at the Keyboard layout on the picture above with a HTC_FUZE
And this pic under, which is a GSM Touch pro..
Which Keyboard Layout do you have? (NOTE: AT&T Fuze IS also a GSM phone.)
PICTURE 2:

So, picture 1: Fuze AT&T?
or,  picture 2: HTC Touch Pro European?

lol I have the Fuze, the first pictured one... lol I wish I had the European, because it's sexier and has a second camera I believe? And it doens't have AT&T branded right on it.

hehe I've got the European, and it's got a Front Faced Video Camera, yes, For Video conversation.
I also prefer the keyboard layer where I don't need to hold FN button down then press for example K to get 9.

This is very true... I think I'm going to dislike that feature. They could have just put the numbers on top like a normal keyboard and made it so when you hold shift and press a number it corresponds to something like: !@#$%^&*()

But I'm not HTC designer lol

So I just got it unlocked to work for T-Mobile and I love it. My only questions are what should the settings be for mms? I tried duplicating the settings from my Shadow, but I'm still not receiving MMS? Any suggestions?

I know very little about this, our custom ROM flashers might know a bit more.

But I'm sure it takes more than a hard reset to re-lock the phone, which is a programming procedure.

Here some reference threads:

The last one lets you see if your phone us unlocked.

yay I got mms to work the other day and have been enjoying the phone so far. Touch screen is pretty responsive and this windows isnt as slow as my Shadow was. The only complaint I would have would have to be the battery life. I installed a .Cab that gave my shadow and extra 3 hours of life and installed the diamond config and diamond tweak to help out, I was wondering if anyone else did something to their phones to improve battery life, on this phone it seems to just drain and that's understandable considering everything the phone has going on Smiley
