I'd like to be able to use my TP to do interviews (think radio quality microphone)
Is it possible to hook an external microphone up to the bottom usb connector?
Maybe an adapter?  any recommendations?  thanks

I was able to hook a lapel mic up to the usb adapter (the unit that you hook you can hook regular headphones into) but there are a couple things to consider.

1. You may need an adapter as the mic size it takes is the smaller 2.5mm mic not the 3.5mm of common earbud headphones.

2. If you're thinking reporting, I am not really sure of the end quality of the TPs recording but I suspect it would be pretty good if you have a good mic. It's worth a shot.

The headphone adapter would be an audio out ... i was looking for an audio in jack

I ended up getting an external Mic/Recorder ... not using the phone at all ... I'm still looking for a possible solution if it keeps me from carrying two devices

The headphone adapter has both: audio in & out. That's how you can make phone calls through it and use Voice Command.

What I'm thinking is, that whatever other mic you use, you'll need to find a driver that works on a WM platform. I have never seen one myself.
