I know the GSM touch pro is compatible, so I am certain it is compatible with the Sprint version.

I've yet to verify this, but if it's SDHC compatible (which it is) then it should be good with all SDHC cards, up to 32 GB (when available)

hopefully my wife get's the hint about the 16 gb card and I'll be able to verify this on xmas day! (well, the day after. wifey's not going to be coll with me ignoring the kids to rip porn onto my mobilde device all day on xmas)

Pyrana,
What speed class was that card? and could you post a link to the item or the seller's name?

Only class 2 alas - but does the job okay. However at they moment there is little if any class 4 or 6 microSD cards available in 16GB capacity.

Toshiba is releasing one shortly - http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/11/30/toshiba-plans-16gb-class-6-micro-sdhc-for-consumer-market/

anyway, here's the sellers eBay listings - http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/aabbcc147

note only some stuff is free shipping - I struck it lucky on the 16GB at the time, it varies.

I suggest trying 'microSDHC' as a search on ebay - I found 3 sellers with 16GB class 2 microSD cards at approx $53US with free worldwide shipping in the first 200 results.

Thanks for the info! have you run any full vga resolution video off of that card? that's probably the most intesive thing I would do with it, and if the class 2 can handle that then there'd be no reason to hold out for 4 or 6.

CAUTION! BE VERY CAREFUL OF COUNTERFEIT MEMORY CARDS ON EBAY AND FROM CHINA, ETC.

I bought a memorystick for my PSP on ebay. It was a total counterfeit. I got my money back fortunately.

I copied an assortment of video files to the card in the phone and played them back using Core player.
the resolutions ranged from 624 x 352 to 512 x 384. nothing lying around handy thats 640 x 480 sorry.

all the files were very watchable however there was definitely dropped frames in all of them, therefore I copied one to the internal memory and played it back from there to compare. It played identically in that there were still some dropped frames at the same rate/same place, hence it appears the lack is in the system speed, possibly the player, and not in the memory card speed.

I guess I need to put some file on there that the useless windows media player supports so I can rule out the Core player.

I'll convert something later and try it...

well, if you're running 624 x 352 and it runs as fast on the card as on the system memory, then that does reflect pretty well on the card.

I'd go out and buy one today, but my wife and I have a rule about buying our selves things just before xmas...

thanks for the info!

So it appears that the HTC isn't limited to just an 8GB card which is the what i assumed  reading the manual......GREAT i was in the midst of buying an 8GB card and was only wondering if the HTC was compatible with the higher series but what i'm reading is the higher the series the better i'm off. Is that correct. What series is the 1GB that comes with the phone?

Hello people,

apparently HTC touch pro has a limit of 32 GB !! for the memory cards ( dont know if there is a 32GB card out yet, I suppose you can get it from somewhere)

Currently I have a 4GB and very happy so far.

Cheers
