This is a step by step I created for CDMA Phones/Devices.

Step 1:
You need to unlock your phone, this is more or less unlocking a security device on your phone to allow you to do what you want to it.
The Unlock tutorial is here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42503

You need to read EVERYTHING in that thread.  The only reason I'm saying that is because if you don't pay attention to something or you skip a step you might BRICK your device.  That's bad.  So I want you to read from where it says CDMA Raphael Elite Team all the way down to NOTE 5:.

NOTE: I want you to do every step they tell you to do.  If you are having trouble with a step or two TELL ME and I will help you.  But when I say do every step, that means things like: double check to make sure you have the .NET framework installed, get the Windows Mobile Device Center update even if you think you're up to date, double check to make sure your device is syncing properly with your computer, etc.

Even though they tell you many times, just remember: if you have Sprint, Alltel, Telus, or Bell you want the Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037.zip package (attachments at the bottom) but if you have Verizon then you need the Verizon_HSPL_Package.zip package.

In PPCGeeks 'Instructions', 'Step 7' it says go into BootLoader mode.  If you don't know what that is, turn off your phone.  Once its off, i want you to hold the Power Button and the Volume Down button at the same time until something happens.  Eventually you'll see 'Bootloader Mode' which should be 3 colors on the screen.  This means you have successfully UNLOCKED your device, good job.

Step 2:

This step is how to Flash the Custom ROM you want.  This is also pretty easy you just need to READ and go step by step.  Here's the thread: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=43266

If you want to do it the easiest way, Flash Via PC (the first set of instructions on there, no need to do anything complicated)  Again, go step by step.  Step 1, the attachment is at the bottom, download it to your desktop.  For step 2, it's easier if you make a new folder and extract all the contents from the RUU to the new folder.

Step 3: this is where you want to search for a ROM you want.  There are MANY ROM's to choose from.  Here are some areas that you can look: http://www.alltouchpro.com/index.php?topic=697.0 & http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=68 and take a look at this too http://sites.google.com/site/ppcgeeksproject/Home/touch-pro-rom-information.

When you found the ROM you want, follow these steps, this is JUST AN EXAMPLE I made using Mighty's ROM:

When you run the Update Utility the phone will take care of itself once you follow the steps on the screen.

Here are the warnings:
a.)  This WILL give you a hard reset!  Therefore you will lose contacts and all your applied custom settings!  (You can still sync your contacts back via active sync)
b.)  I take no responsibility for you screwing up your phone,  I didn't force you to do this, you took the action, not me.  Just be careful!

This is just a rough draft, I'll try and keep updating this to make it more simple for you guys.

This is a step by step I created for GSM Phones/Devices.  It's still a work in progress so bear with me.

step 1:
have at LEAST 50% battery, your phone should sync PROPERLY with ActiveSync/WinMoDevice Center, .NET Framework 3.5 should be installed on your PC

step 2:
 download this:http://rapidshare.com/files/191033347/Raphael_HardSPL.zip

step 3:
extract Raphael HardSPL-> HardSPL to a folder on desktop, run RaphaelHardSPL-Unsigned_190_1_3.exe

step 4:

Follow steps in the RUU (Rom Update Utility), it pretty much takes care of itself, done

Tell me what you get from there, because I'm not totally sure what happens on the GSM phones.  I'm like 85% sure this will turn you back to STOCK.  (Which is what I do before I flash a custom ROM anyway so that's okay)

haha, ya know, as I was typing it all I had a feeling it would scare people even more, but it's reallllly easy once you do it, and you'll love it.  I just have to say those warnings about screwing up your phone otherwise I'm assuming people would rip my head off.

Yeeeah sorry.  But if you're still worried about it, just get more and more experienced with the phone and eventually you'll be ready - you might not know it - but you'll be ready.
