Be patient, total newbie here (both smartphones and forums)... I would like to know how to access specific (German Volksmusik) streaming internet radio stations from my HTC Touch Pro. I have sucessfully accessed http://www.alpenmelodie.de/ and listen to it all the time. My current challenge is http://www.radio-oberkrain.com/Radio_Oberkrain/radio.html  I have tried everything to get it to play on my phone, no luck. Any specific or general information would be helpful and appreciated. signing off now, but will check replies later. thank you!

First of all;

Are you useing Opera, IE or skyfire maybe? Which browser?

Also, do you know if you've got some settings that might be set to mobile view.
(Opera: Settings>>Display::uncheck Mobile view.)

And, which service provider do you use?

Hello Tomato!
I'm German as well.

I checked out the radio station that doesn't want to play, and here's why it won't: The player is an embedded flash player - and Opera cannot do flash.

Skyfire might or you can write the radio station (I saw a contact link on their site) and ask them for a url that streams to mobiles - or like the Germans say: "Handys".

I used to use a radio streamer from Wi-Not.com . It still works, but the graphics to enter the program are messed up, because their are not made for our VGA size screens. But it still works.

All - Thank you very much for the replies!

Atomic2Mod -
--I guess I am out of luck then with Opera. Thanks for checking the website; it looks like there are a variety of players to choose from across the top, they must all be embedded flash players? (curious - alpenmelodie (the site that does play on my phone) is not embedded?)
--Seems like the easiest solution would be your suggestion to find a url for the station that streams to mobiles. do you have an example of what that would look like? I did get a url for the station from my dad's internet radio display (http://opml.radiotime.com/Tune.ashx?id=s79073&partnerid=16) when I type this into the explorer address line on my computer, windows media player comes up and plays the station.  If I do the same on my mobile it wants me to open or save something called "tune.m3u" of type "audio/x-mpegurl" and size "0 bytes". I've tried to open it and save it but I can't get it to play.
--about radio streamers - in the programs section of my mobile is "Streaming Media" (does this count as a radio streamer?)- it wants "rtsp://" format; I can't find any urls that look like that for the german stations.
--I wish I knew what I did to make alpenmelodie work on my mobile. I don't even need to go to the website for that station anymore; somehow I saved something called "player_wma_listen" into my playlist on the windows media player application; all I need to do is click on that now and that station plays.

tkima1 - Sprint is my provider; Opera is the browser (unfortunately apparently), and I checked the settings, and they are as you recommend.

WunderRadio is one of my favorite apps.  If you get really bored you can listen to police scanners Tongue

Hello dfootball56 - A couple questions if you don't mind -
1) Have you found a way to adjust the volume on the Touch Pro for the WunderRadio app other than the side rocker switch?  (I'm thinking of the Windows Media app which allows for volume adjustments in 5% increments instead of the 20% increments you get from using the Pro's side volume rocker switch.)
2) I see that you can change the bitrate for some stations with this app. What is optimal for the Touch Pro or does it depend on certain factors? (sorry I'm new to all this)
3) ...and once you select a bitrate for a station, does it stick or reset once you close and reopen the app? (I can't tell.))
Thank you!!

1) I don't think there is a way to adjust the volume other than the side buttons.

2 & 3)  I had no idea you could adjust the bitrate
