So this morning I wake up, see I'm running late and pissed that my alarm didn't go off on the Touch Pro.
Turns out I can't wake up the phone. (And I thought I was tired). Ultimately had to do a soft reset.
Has this happened to anyone?
BTW - I had NO other active apps running, so memory usage was below 40%. The last time I had soft booted the device was probably about 1 week earlier.
As much as I love the phone, I am not a fan of Window's memory leak issues which require you to periodically soft-boot. At least with my Treo 650, I only had to reboot it like once every few months when it acted goofy on me. (Yes, that is the technical description, goofy).
Now I have to worry if my alarm will go off and wake me up going forward.
Adam

this has happened to me several times including this morning. it is stuck in a deep sleep and wont wake up the dpad lights and others are solid. i had to yank the battery then reboot. if you notice it drains the battery fast while this happens.

This same exact freeze happened to me twice in a week about a month ago...one time it was just sitting on my car seat and i picked it up to use it and it was frozen...then next time it froze over night while i ws sleeping...i had to pull the batery both times to get it workin again
ever since then, i try to do a soft reset about once every two days, it keeps my TP running smooth at all times.

Yes, it has happened to me a couple of times. I would suggest rebooting it before you go to bed and think about getting a back-up alarm. Remember this phone is running on the WINDOWS Mobile operating system. The device is more like a small computer than a phone. It has all kinds of device drivers and background processes and services running all the time. Windows Mobile locks up occasionally, just like any other Windows and has to be restarted. Particularly after running for a long time.

Have has this happen to me once as well. Just did a soft restart... Now I do a soft restart a couple times a week to keep it running smooth. I did not know about the hard restart out of the box to fix a crap load of issues and now I am not sure I want to loss all of my programs and need to re-install all of the dam cab's again.
Dumb question...How you hard reset your phone?

Happened to me for the first time today! Scared the heck out of me. I thought I would have to get a new one. Then I thought it can't hurt if I do a soft reset and voila!! I had my phone back. Wheew close call! Cheers Jan

Yup, actually happened to me this wednesday. Third time in one year.
So, it's a known problem, which occurs once in a while. One of the cons of having the Touch Pro. You'll need to get used to it (like MAYBE 1 time a month - 1 time each two months. - if it happens more than 1,2 times a month, contact your service provider and ask them how to fix this problem)
Hope this helps.

Not a dumb question, but a rather common one. Easiest way; Start:: Settings:: System:: Clear Storage::Follow on-screen instructions.
