um thought it could be just windows lag, but ive been sending messages lately and the keyboard starts to lag, from the time i push the buttons to the time i push the screen to send.. takes a few minutes for everything i typed to appear on screen. just wondering if its this phone or all the pros in genereal.. since it could be windows lag wanted to know, because every other  hardware keyboard phone ive had doesnt have an inch of lag. let me know to see if  i need a new phone

As of now mine doesn't lag.  Then again mine is brand new so it might not be the best test subject.

any tweaks that might affect keyboard or hardkey response time rather than running speed.. but then again all my other hard keys seem to work instantaneously

mine doesn't lag keyboard wise, although I did run thru diamond tweak and set everything to Advised, however it lags badly when I initially slide out the keyboard and often the first push on the new menu from turning it sideways and sliding out the keyboard only suceeds in putting a green box around the choice, not selecting it but after repeated pressing when it finally decides to bring up messaging, the keyboard side of things is fine.

strange, when i start typing a full on message. it takes a while for it to actually load, humanly speaking, my phone is talking w/o thinking... i type first and then for avg sent. each sentence will have at least 2 seconds delay before whole thing slowly starts typing itself onscreen considering it feels like i lifted my hands off keyboard ages ago when trying to send instantaneous messages, gets rather annoying to see your message jus start to come up when you finish typing

I read something on pocketnow.com that there was a solution to the lag time of the function of the os.  They suggested downloading a registry program to fix the problem and then changing some of the settings to improve on the quickness of the os, but I can't seem to find that article anymore.  Has anyone else have a solution.

see now thats the thing, idk what the problem is, it could be the phone's brain isnt keeping up with my own so to speak lol, or some actual hardwarre isues with wiring or jus data transfer from keybaord to phone..wirin, you know as if you have those standard, non fiber optic wires to your lcd tv, and when you change channel on cable box takes like a huge likke 4 or 5 second delay for the channel to actually change and the picture to show.. something similar to that possibly, or os?

I have the same problem on my TouchPro and it is VERY annoying. The keyboard regularly seems to either lag or stop functioning altogether for long periods of time. I can activate the 'touch' keboard to complete the message but it kind of defeats the purpose of having the beautifully crafted slide out QWERTY. I need to get this resolved ASAP... so is the problem I am encountering just me? And if so, what do I need to do to get it sorted? Appreciate your thoughts and help!

yes thank you!, this phones keyboard is better than any silly bubbly sidekick button keyboard, and better than  most other half ass job ones like a rumor etc.. which are missing buttons.....so y make the worlds most beautiful phone keyboard if i cant type on it suuper fast Sad...just a bit of a letdown if you ask me....but strangely enough if i type on browser or messaging app alltogether, email text etc, theres lag...but if i go into the im app its another story...the lag is so low u dont even notice anymore..possibly windows mobile ruined our devices capabilities like many other phones?...hopefully first firmware update caan fix this.

I dont think this is a windows software problem. I would agree but for the fact when the touch screen keypad is active it works fine, wihout any lag. The problem only occurs with the physical keypad which makes me think this is a prob with HTC's own software?? It happens to me regularly - I would say every third message I need to complete on the touchscreeen keypad... maybe I shouldnt have kicked out the extra $$ for the TouchPro and should have stuck with the Diamond?

htc software? u mean firmware for phone rather than windows mobile itself?...possibly, but still go on instant messegnger and u will see when on aim etc theres really no lag at all...so im lost...but one way or another hopefully its not windows and CAN be fixed with firmmware update.

I have the same issue. Started with lag time...and as it got slower and slower it eventually shut down completely. I am inclined to believe there is a bad connection with the slide out Qwerty.
