Just got my first win mobile phone, and I have a few questions for all the experts here:

1. Touchflo is still active but somehow the touchflo phone dialer skin diappeared. How can I recover it, w/out a hard reset?

2. How many apps have people loaded into these tp2 phones, on average? Can apps be loaded directly onto the SD card?

3. Can anyone recommend a Mobile Outlook app if I'm not looking to sync w/a PC and want to use the phone as a standalone PC/laptop replacement?

4. Is there a calendar app available that shows a complete month view, similar to a paper desktop calendar or the month view in Outlook? Could the calendar integrate with touchflo, replacing the existing calendar?

5. How would I cut and paste text in windows mobile, similar to control c/control v in windows?

6. Is there a way to improve video out quality when running the accessory cable from the tp2 to a monitor?

Thanks, in advance, for everyone's help!

Hi, welcome to the forum!

As Tkima said - check out our TP2 site. Lots of goodies there.

I don't quite understand where you're going with question #3.
You already have a native Outlook set-up on your phone, whether you sync to a pc or not.

What exactly are you looking for that's different or similar from what's on there?

Thanks so much for the quick replies!

@ Tkima:

I'm new to this, so what do you mean by "follow the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHNE/Security..." link? Where would I find this?

Also, to clarify my question about using the SD card, I was wondering whether apps could be downloading to permanently reside on the card, freeing up system memory? Maybe I read it wrong, but your reply seems to suggest that I would download to the card and then install directly to the phone...

@ Atomic:

In reviewing the stock MS apps., I see Word, Excel and Powerpoint. But there's no mini version of Outlook. Should there be one? Where could I obtain a copy for download?

THANKS!!!

(To answer the outlook thingy; Use the standard E-Mail that is on the phone, you can find this here; Start::Messaging::Setup E-Mail)

For the SD Card:

You can download different type of app files. the most common is the example.cab files.
To install;
Drag the file to either SD card or the device itself. Locate the file then press it. the you get:
Choose a location to install "application": *Device ___*\Storage Card.

Press install

Choose storage card to install the app on the storage card. NOTE this will free up memory on the device itself, but will not give the program as good quality as it would if you install on device.

HTC TP (1/2) is good enough storage space on to install apps. Use memory card to files (Pictures, doc., music etc....)

As for the HKEY_LOCAL...
This is what we call a registry tweak.
You'll need a registry editor for this to work.
You can find a program in our Master Application Thread;
Registry Editor v0.9    (Thanks Atomic2Mod)
Description : If you ever want to tweak your phone then most likely you will need this program.
Download :
http://download2us.softpedia.com/dl/8d0a29cd47e6a395032639560630479a/49c6e28e/700067793/pda/System%20Utilities/Registry/Registry_Editor_v0.9.cab
(http://www.alltouchpro.com/index.php?topic=311.0)

Install;
Open program::
Locate: \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (ALSO KNOWN AS HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin::Enabled=0
Hope that clears up things a little bit Smiley

EASIER WAY!!! (STILL, if that is the dialer you've got now and want to go away)
http://www.touchxperience.com/en/advanced-configuration-tool/downloads/40-advanced-configuration-tool-downloads/17-advanced-configuration-tool-33-cab-install.html

(DIRECT DOWNLOAD - You'll get a download window open, save the file, and install like I told with CAB files above)

When installed:
Open Advanced Config 3.3 (THIS IS A POWERFUL PROGRAM, DO NOT USE IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING!)::Scroll down to Phone and open phone list::First thing you'll see is "Phone skin":: Enable it.
Then press Done.

Press YES on the soft reset question.

Hope this helps Smiley

To expand on parts of the above:

Outlook:
The phone's email (outlook), contacts, calendar, notes and task application are all part of mobile Outlook. As such, they will sync with either your pc or your companies exchange server, or you can use them without syncing at all.

You can further sync/back-up a lot of these (also pictures & documents) by using MS Myphone.

Apps running from SD card:
I have several apps running from my SD card. Some run great, some ask you to install them on the main memory for stability. It's something you have to experiment with on an app by app basis.
