I bought a new Touch Pro through Verizon several weeks ago-my first smartphone. I fully understand that there is a learning curve for any new device especially first time with a smartphone. However, what appears to me as problems are making the learning much more difficult or impossible and I am considering returning the phone.

Here are the main problems:
1. The phone will on its own changes to a different location and it is not always the same location. The list of places it changes to is long. I keep the phone on Device Locked but the slightest movement of the keyboard will unlock it.
2. When I make a phone call or receive a call, when the call is completed, the whole screen is dark or black. It takes a number of tapping from the stylus to “wake it up.” By this time I don't know if the phone call has hung up or am I still connected.
3. I purchased an enhanced battery up to 2000 mAh (not from Verizon) and it runs down at the end of the day without heavy use, maybe 3 or 4 calls and couple of text messages. I understand in this case it could be a bad battery or something is wrong with the phone causing the battery to drain quicker. So this is going to be fun trying to return the battery because the company I bought it from may claim noting is wrong with the battery and it was the phone.

Any comments would be welcomed.

Thanks

I understand your frustration...but all those problems can be fixed!..though I'm not entirely understanding your first problem.

2-Go to this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3296423&postcount=382) and download the .cab attached in the first post. If your on you PC, you will need to transfer it to your TP, then use file explorer to open it. It will self install and eliminate your screen from going black. However, this will wear down you battery significantly (the reason it shuts off in the first place) so keep that in mind if you talk a lot.

3-There are A LOT of mods that can be done to spare battery life. The most important, however, is making sure you keep programs closed. Factory settings allow for "minimizing" programs when you hit the "X". This should be changed so that when you hit "X" the program is closed. To do this, from the today screen, hit the three bar button int he top right corner. Then click the wrench and specify this option.

Also, using "close all" (stacked "x"'s in that same menu) will close Active Sync for an extended period of time (which also wears down battery life).

Aside from that, try "Advanced Configuration" to set things to your liking. It has some power management features to it.

Hang in there! Your not the only one with complaints...you just have to do some digging to find the .cabs to fix all the annoying little things.

Here's a link to a bundle of .cab files for the Touch Pro. Some of them are self explanatory but a quick Google of the ones you don't, will tell you what they are.
