Just realized there was an "Other Phones" section and this would probably be better off there if a mod wants to move it...

Will the hard keyboards be around for much longer? The Instinct, iPod/phones, Storm, etc are all touch keyboards and it seems they are the trend. I know I went with the Touch Pro over the Diamond because I'd prefer to use a hard keyboard...have buttons I can FEEL. Do you guys think there enough of us that prefer the keyboard to keep them in production for years to come or am I going to be stuck with a touch keyboard on my next phone??

Well we are still in the first generations of on-screen keyboards.  For the most part, they are laggy and unpredictable, not to mention, if the calibration is off the keyboard won't function correctly.

It is obviously user opinion.  In my opinion, as I have used both, I MUCH prefer a solid keyboard rather than the on-screen.  I think they will be around for a long time until the on-screen keyboard become more stable and more reliable.

Agreed!!! Fysical keyboards are MUCH better!!! Cheesy hehe Wink

I remember when I needed a new phone, and I was about to find one I liked... I saw the TP, and I fell in love!! Wink hehe
The keyboard, I think, was the one thing that stunned me! I've always been the type that hates to write long textmessages! And would much prefer to call.

anyways, to answer your question;
No, I think that if fysical keyboard will be all gone, people would react in a negative way! Some people much prefer the fysical, and will not use an on-screen keyboard... Also, it will have a negative impact on companies, I think, because then the textmessages income will decrase, a lot! Tongue hehe.
But that's just me, and my opinion Tongue
