Hope I don't sound to silly I did go read the two "ROM" threads but I really have no idea what they are? Can someone enlighten me  Huh

First off, you don't sound silly, because ROM's are probably the most complicated/high-tech/advanced/whatever you want to call it thing you can really do to your phone (my opinion.)

Basically a ROM, which of course stands for Read Only Memory, is found mainly in computers and I'm sure there are a lot more places they are found.  But we also have it in the Touch Pro (along with most pocket PC phones and Smartphones?.)  So basically a ROM is something that holds your operating system and pretty much every other MAIN feature in our phone.  All ROM's cannot be edited by a user manually, this prevents hacks and such.  In the custom-cooked ROM's "chefs" (designers/programmers) are literally making their OWN read-only-memory adding preferences and/or programs of their choice.

So "flashing" a ROM is actually meaning you're replacing your old ROM and updating it to a new one.  If you read in the first post you can read up on flashing and unlocking your phone.  I advise you to study everything and make sure you have all the requirements if you are interested in flashing a custom ROM.

Hope this helps.  Cool

Who's your service provider?  Most Sprint's are CDMA, some Verizons are GSM.

Sprint & Verizon are CDMA. ATT is GSM.

Don't know what they use in Australia - but I would look up the specs on the website where you got your phone. They should have it spelled out on there.

ooooo pretty

YEAH IT IS!

So, I tried this, NOT the ROM version, but the one with the PointUI Home 2 Screen. And it didn't work! I had to pay for it! Which I didn't because the little I tried, I wasn't impressed! BUT, I want to try it as a ROM!, is there a possibility for me here? Remember, I've got a GSM phone.

I am using MightyRom6. I like it. the only issue I have with it, is the start menu only has rows of 3 icons instead of 4.  is there a registry hack to change this?
