I am trying to turn off the auto complete feature  when typing text. I have gone to the touch input setting and unchecked everything that it looks like I should.  I am still getting the auto complete and it inserts words that I really don't want.   Thanks for any help!!

I have used all the input methods with the same results.  I called HTC tech support today and got the fix.  They have had problems with this and they had me go through a sequence of changes to the input methods.  The changes I made in the sequence really independently had nothing to do with my problem but as a sequence it fixed the problem.  Only problem is I have no idea what that sequence was.

don't you just hate it, when you hang up and wished you wrote it all down while they were talking to you....

Okay, let's try this to jog your memory:

YOU ARE RELAXED.
YOU ARE FEELING VERY SLEEPY....
YOU HEAR ONLY MY VOICE...................

anything yet?

I had this problem too. Here's the trick::

When you bring up the on-screen keyboard...make sure that it's on ABC and not on T9. If the little ball is slid over to the side where it says T9, change it to ABC and see if that works. I notice than when I used the Compact Qwerty and I have T9 on, it automatically turns on word completion. But when I use the keyboard, unless I turn T9 off on the on-screen keyboard, it will continue to try to complete my words for me.

Hope this helps.
